The 3 Essiac Tea Supplies You'll Want to Have on Hand Before Making Your First Batch

Essiac tea isn't complicated to make - but there are a few essiac tea supplies that are essential to have on hand. The good news is, many people already own these items! Don't let the complicated instructions you might have read from other brands intimidate you - we make our essiac exactly as Nurse Rene Caisse did! Even though these supplies are very common to already have in the kitchen, check out our suggestions to see if you have a little shopping to do.

The 3 Essential Essiac Tea Supplies

1. A pot (that is not aluminum)

Here is a stainless steel pot we recommend for brewing essiac tea. This type of pot will allow for a good brew free of chemicals or other unwanted substances. You can use any pot as long as it's not aluminum. Large pots such as an 8 quart will be necessary for brewing a gallon at a time.

2. Pitcher

This is a pitcher we recommend due to it's properties which include the materials it's made from as well as the option to open the top of the pitcher easily.

 If you prefer to use glass pitchers, most of them are 64 oz. so just know that you'll need two to hold a gallon of essiac.

3. Wooden Spoon

We also suggest stirring your essiac with a large wooden spoon before pouring each dose so that some of the powdered herbs make it into each dose that you pour. You also might need one to drape over the top of the pot to prevent boiling over. Here is one that we love:

Optional: Kitchen scale

If you order bulk herbs or don't use a whole packet at once for some reason, a kitchen scale will help ensure that you use the correct amount. Using measuring cups won't be exactly accurate due to the way the herbs can settle during transport or over time.

As you can see, the list of supplies needed to make our essiac tea isn't super overwhelming! Hopefully you already own suitable items, but if not take a moment to stock up so that you have the supplies on hand you'll need when your essiac tea order comes in.
